hiya:
What can I do to make my beard grow thicker? I mean does some medical
treatment or other product can increase beard growth without hormonal
imbalance.
ps: im 25 years old
I happen to be very slim with the facial hair myself. I'm in my mid
20s as well, and have exactly 2 hairs between my barely-existent
sideburns and my 68 hairs on my chin (yes they have been counted).
I did as my dad about his hair history and he said his beard was
always full... as was my mom's dads beard. So it's not likely a
family thing. Perhaps DJBaker has the right idea with a hormonal
imballance, but I'm not too concerned with the issue. Although I have
a fairly stress-free life and the hair on top of my head is very full,
so I know that isn't my issue.
I'm actually quite happy that I don't have to shave much. I do have a
mustache that will grow and the very small tuft of hair bellow the
middle of my lower lip. But both of those just look really bad (along
with my 68 hair beard) when I grow them out. So I shave daily the
little bit of hair that I do have.
It's nice to not have to shave alot of hair. I have had the same
bottle of shaving cream as long as I can remember and my razors last
about 4 times as long as most people's. We should take pride in your
hairlessness, it definately has its perks. Of course the downside for
me is in the late evening people sometimes ask me if I'm growing a
mustache, because they can see my hair there but not anywhere else so
they assume I shaved the rest off. It makes for a bit of explaining
every time unless I just say "yes, I'm going for the bad teenage
mustache look". Greetings!
Unfortunately how thick your beard grows in is just part of the
genetics lottery. At this time it is the general consensus of medical
professionals that there is nothing that can be done to increase beard
density.
On the positive side it is very possible that you are just a late
bloomer. Talk to your father/grandfather about when their beards
fully developed. It can take up to a person's late 20's for them to
be able to grow a good thick beard (while others seem to be able to
grow one overnight at 16, doesn't seem fair does it?).
If you feel like there is something wrong with how thick your beard it
might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about it. A hormonal
imbalance can cause poor facial hair growth and that likely can be
treated.
Lastly, I did find one interesting thing worth noting. Some believe
that high stress lives can cause hair loss. If you'd fall into this
category try reducing your stress level (if possible) and see if that
helps.
