I'd get even more dizzy staying in the middle watching the rest of them spinn around.

So that their fare classes really aren't infinte now. Well... at least if they are infinite, they are countably infinite :).

I would rather stay in the middle.

You remember as much as 5%?

    I'm impressed!

Iäd be happy if I remembered 0.5% of it.

    1+1 = ........

    Wait! I know this one!

  • Vaclav - unfortunately, there are many that feel that the losses we have had are no loss at all.

  • ...at the newest trend in the AC/AP forum.

    Hyperbolic thread titles!

Zorn, it has been a while since the quality of the threads on this forum has been heading down the slopes, faster nad faster, I am afraid to mention. Many of those "quality" contributors are gone. Nowadays, the novices mostly want a freebie or ask a question so rudimentary that it is appalling. I used to spend a lot of time here lurking and sometimes contributing. Nowadays, I am done almost in no time.

    Shame on us!

  • ....

And yes, most of us indeed do find AC's changes to the IKK thingy utterly disgusting.

    You got that right.

  • Vaclav - unfortunately, there are many that feel that the losses we have had are no loss at all.

A little presumptuous, don't you think? I would wager there are more folks like myself who feel the losses suffered as of late and hope the trend is only a temporary one.

  • Ah - I thought that you meant hyperbolic functions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbolic_function), not hyperbole :).

I seem to recall he is an academic. But probably not in math or hard (i.e. real) sciences.

Well, you could say that this thread is approaching its limit.

    2. Emotionally stimulated or overexcited.

Hyperbolic is indeed the way to make hyperbole into an adjective. It's also the way to make an adjective out of hyperbola.

A few dictionaries I looked at list the non-technical meaning first, e.g. Merriam-Webster:

    Main Entry: hy·per·bol·ic
    Function: adjective
: of, relating to, or marked by hyperbole

I seem to recall he is an academic. But probably not in math or hard (i.e. real) sciences.

I have one degree in mathematics, and another in statistics. I admit I have descended in the world of engineering, but I am not one of them. I merely work among them. I'm too lazy to actually do a job that involves solving a problem more than once.

My degree in mathematics is probably the best explanation for my continuing belief that AC fare categories are indeed simplified :p

  • So that their fare classes really aren't infinte now. Well... at least if they are infinite, they are countably infinite :).

1.2.3.4...n.n+1...They were never infinite -- AC can only have a max. of:

    36 (26 letters A-Z + 10 digits 0-9) ^ 8 (max. number of characters in the fare basis) = 2 821 110 000 000 different fares per route :)

  • Perhaps, not many. ;)

oh dont start than again ;)

  • The mods need to start moving or deleting threads. Move 'em to the chit chat or jet blast sections. I too have found the recent rash of threads hard to follow. :(

Or condense 2 similar threads into one.

But some good news, it was the sticky fare class thread that answered the very first question that brought me to this site ^

I seem to have 'stuck' here now...

  • .........I admit I have descended in the world of engineering, but I am not one of them.

For the record on does not descend into the world of engineering..... one ascends! Although like a dog chasing a car, one does not know what to do once they get there.

    Clearly a slow Saturday.:D

Nah.......I just remember basic stuff such as flat = 180 deg. Never forgot that formula as I use them to measure the reclineness of airline seatings. ;)

Many does not necessarily = most ;)

And there is somthing about silent majorities often not having the dominant message.

At the moment, you would be best served by either doing a RBP, or PMing skofarrell or Randy Petersen.

Q Shoe Guy and myself do not have the ability to make the changes you suggest.
