Elite Rewards® Platinum Plus® MasterCard® Reviews:: The Elite Rewards® Platinum Plus® MasterCard® is now issued by FIA Card Services , N.A.. The reviews posted below were posted during the time when MBNA http://www.cardoffers.com/introComments/posted/card.asp?idmin=327HOME | I am going to Las Vegas next week - 10/11 - 13. Have a Q class ticket (I think) - can I only call 48 hours before the trip to try to get upgraded? I am having a difficult time deciphering the Elite rules. Also, calls to the hotline have gotten me unsatisfactory answers. thanks for your help!
I understand the unlimited upgrade policy to be as follows:
Platinum: 100 Hours call ahead
Elite 1: 72 Hours call ahead
Elite: 24 Hours call ahead
24 Hours is defined by agents in one of two ways: (I have found this to be inconsistent although #1 below is more common)
1) as one full day plus the hours back-timed to midnight (i.e. Flight is at 9:00 AM Monday, you can call on Sunday at one minute after midnight)
or
2) as one full day only (i.e. Flight is at 9:00 AM Monday, you can call on Sunday at 9:00 AM) United Airlines - E-Upgrade Terms and Conditions:: Lufthansa check-in deadlines apply. Upgrade Processing: For United-, United Express-, and or Ted-operated flights, this upgrade may be requested any time http://www.united.com/page/article/1,,50027,00.htmlHOME |
Generally, I call back until I find an agent who thinks like #1.
Fare price does not matter as it should be first-come, first served with available FC upgrade seats. I believe only "Y", "B", and "Y-up" class fares are upgradeable at the time of booking. The balance of classes apply to the 100/72/24 hour rules. Dance Music Forum :: Top 2008 packs / Last Chance for Wave Upgrade :: 5 postsDeadline is December 31st at Midnight EST. You already know that some seats may not be released until closer to the flight times (but after the 100/72/24 hours begin to call times), so there is a benefit to calling back randomly (like every 12 hours or so) to see if a seat upgrade has been freed up.
Don't forget to move into the first row of coach, too, in case you don't get upgraded to FC. STL to LAS is a FF-heavy trip and has been a challenge to upgrade on (although I have been successful, FC has never been wide-open like on some other routes).
My last couple flights to LAS have been on larger TWA aircraft with the in-flight video/movie, etc., so check you reservation to see what aircraft you'll be on.
If you can't do any of the above, try to get an exit row at the airport.
Finally, I would suggest you call 800-221-2000 and try to upgrade your "Q" class ticket today. I don't think it would upgrade, but since you're not certain, you can tell the agent that and then they'll inform you of what you can do.
Or, maybe your luck will begin early and you'll receive the FC upgrade on the spot.
Good luck and enjoy your trip.
